Precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum, aside from being rare metals, get their value from their luster. Because of this, they make beautiful accessories, adornments that enhance a person’s look, a practice dating back to ancient times. 
Pure silver is highly resistant to tarnishing, but because it’s too soft, it can’t be used daily. To give it strength, pure silver is mixed with other metals to make sterling silver, which is stronger and still as shiny. Unfortunately, mixing pure silver with other metals makes it prone to tarnishing, especially in places with high humidity. 
But don’t fret. You can prevent your silver from going dull and tarnishing by treating them with WD-40. Spray some WD-40 onto a clean piece of cloth and use it to polish your silver to keep them in excellent condition for many years to come.
