Campbell’s Soup

Who doesn’t enjoy a hearty bowl of chicken noodle soup when you have a cold or the flu? Well, the canned soup doesn’t appeal to U.S. consumers ages 24 to 40. The retro brand may have once dominated the kitchen, but its chemical additives, preservatives, and processed ingredients have driven away health-conscious shoppers who would rather eat homemade soup instead of store-bought canned soup that typically contains a high level of sodium. Consuming too much sodium increases your risk for high blood pressure, heart failure, and stroke. Campbell’s soup sales have been declining in the past decade, and we are more likely to see the brand on a graphic t-shirt than on the dinner table. However, the company that produces over 300 soups is trying to reheat sales by discontinuing some products and focusing on organic soups and broths.
