Lots of Hawaiians are proud of their fellow Hawaiian, actor Jason Momoa. The Aquaman hero was born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa, in Nankuli, Honolulu, Hawaii. But his parents split up, and his mother moved him to Norwalk, Iowa, where he grew up. Despite this, Jason returned to Hawaii to reconnect with his father, and his birthplace. He was spotted by a modeling agency, and in 1999, became Hawaii’s Model of the Year. Aside from the hit Aquaman, Momoa also played a role in the hit series Game of Thrones. Other Notable celebrity Hawaiians include Timothy Olyphant, Bette Midler, Tia Carere, Bruno Mars, and Jack Johnson.
