Meryl Streep was born in Summit, New Jersey in 1949. She is considered as the best actress of her generation. She has been nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards, and has won three. Streep also received 31 Golden Globe nominations, winning eight. She was a high school cheerleader, and was named homecoming queen during her senior year. It seems fair to assume she got used to being in the limelight early on. She spent her formative years in the Garden State, and mentioned in an interview, “It was great to grow up here.
