Jim Beaver may not exactly be a household name among celebrities, but he is still well known as Bobby Singer in the hit series Supernatural. He was born in Laramie, Wyoming, where his father was doing graduate work at the University of Wyoming. Eventually they moved back to Texas. Aside from being an actor, Beaver is also a playwright, screenwriter, and film historian. Less than 2 months after his graduation from high school, he and some friends enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He was a radio operator during the Vietnam War. He was released from active duty in 1971, and began his professional stage debut in 1972, while still a college student. Since then he has had a long list of film and television appearances. Other celebrities from Wyoming include Jackson Pollock, Pete Williams, and Dick Cheney.
