The legend from Ohio is Grammy winner John Legend. This incredible singer was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. He was homeschooled by his mother, and began performing in his church choir at the young age of four. He started high school at 12 years old, and graduated salutatorian 4 years later. He left Ohio to study at the University of Pennsylvania, but remained the pride of Ohio. Over the years he continued to return to Ohio, and helped open the John Legend Theatre at the Springfield Center of Innovation in 2016. “ I have so many fond memories of growing up here,” he mentioned at the time. “I wouldn’t be here without Springfield.” Other well known people from Ohio include LeBron James, Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Carey, and Steven Spielberg.
