Famous actor Ashton Kutcher had his humble beginnings in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is one of the industry’s heartthrobs to date, and was a mainstay in the comedy TV series The 70’s Show. His father was a factory worker, and his mother worked in Procter & Gamble. Kutcher attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, and then the University of Iowa. Initially he worked at the General Mills Plant. He was discovered by a model scout in a bar in Iowa City after he won the Fresh Faces of Iowa modeling competition. He left college and Iowa to pursue acting. In 2017 in an interview, he said, “I left Iowa wanting to get out of Iowa, and the older I get, the more I want to come home.” He added he owes everything he has now to where he came from.
