Politician Sarah Palin moved to Alaska when she was just months old. It has been her home since. The former Governor of Alaska, and former vice-presidential candidate has always been proud to call Alaska home. In 1972, her family settled in Wasilla, where she attended the local high school. She became Miss Wasilla in 1984. She explains that most people think Alaska is like a foreign country, far and isolated. In an interview in 2008, she said, “Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.” One proud Alaskan no doubt.
