Former US President Bill Clinton is one of the popular people from this state. He was raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and was a model student that excelled academically and musically. At the age of 17, Clinton was elected to represent his local American Legion at a visit to the White House, and to shake hands with President Kennedy. This may have been an omen of good fortune for the young Clinton. He moved out of his hometown to further his studies – Georgetown University for his undergrad, Oxford with a Rhodes Scholarship, and then Yale for law school. He returned to Arkansas to become a law professor at the University of Arkansas. Eventually, he became the governor of his home state. The rest is history, as they say.
