Although she can be snarky (especially to Sal, Mitchell and Cameron’s wild and alcoholic friend) and appears to lack empathy (a trait Mitchell confesses their daughter got from him), Lily has shown kindness and selflessness even at a young age, including the time she saves Joe from a collapsing pirate castle and when she gives her toy to a homeless boy. She also has a disparaging but effective way of motivating her Cousin Manny when he can’t drive over bridges, as well as her Uncle Phil and Luke when they need a little push to prep for the next hot dog eating contest.

Just like her generous character, Anderson-Emmons donates a lot of her time to good causes, doing charity work to help hospitals, shelters, research foundations, and other non-profit organizations. She also does YouTube videos with her mother in a segment called FoodMania Review. In 2011, Anderson-Emmons becomes the youngest person to be nominated for and win the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, an honor she shares with her co-stars.
