Despite getting carried away most of the time, there’s no question Cameron is a loving husband to Mitchell and a wonderful father to Lily. He’s incredibly creative with costumes, whether his or his daughter’s. Even though his sister, Pam, and the rest of his family consider him fragile and unable to handle criticisms, he has a very big heart and readily helps anyone in need. One of the best episodes in the TV series is “The Wedding” where Cam and Mitchell tie the knot after gay marriage was legalized in California.

Though he portrays a gay overachiever who enjoys being the center of attention, Stonestreet is heterosexual and jokes that in real life, he’s “openly straight.” Stonestreet has also received several awards and nominations, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
