Nathan Lane stars as Pepper Saltzman, one of Cameron and Mitchell’s gay friends. In an eclectic group with very strong personalities, no one comes off as snobby and rude as Pepper. He is dramatic, insensitive, and sardonic, with no problem insulting other people and saying what’s exactly on his mind. Despite his terrible attitude, and the small fact that he used to date Cam, Pepper remains Cam and Mitchell’s friend and even becomes their wedding planner.

Lane publicly came out after the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, and for a long time, he has been a board member of and raises funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Lane has an extensive career in film, television, and theater, and has done brilliant voicing in The Lion King and Stuart Little. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 2008.
