Rico Rodriguez plays Manuel Alberto Javier Alejandro Ramirez “Manny” Delgado, Gloria’s son from her previous marriage. Manny is into theater, film, music, and literature, fancying himself as well-versed as his cousin, Alex. Raised solely by his mother, he grew up very mature and insightful for his age. When his mom married Jay, Manny quickly got accustomed to living in the suburbs, enjoying French press coffee, dinner jackets, fedora hats, and the other finer things in life. Unlike his cousin, Luke, who’s in some of his classes, Manny is diligent and well-behaved in school, but he usually gets dragged into his cousin’s mischief-making. 

Before Rodriguez considered following his sister’s footsteps and becoming an actor in 2006, he had the ultimate kid’s dream of going to the moon as a NASCAR chef. Prior to Modern Family, he starred in the 2007 parody film, Epic Movie, and played extras in several TV shows such as ER, Nip/Tuck, iCarly, and My Name Is Earl. He also first worked with Ariel Winter in the movie, Opposite Day.
