In April 22, 2008, a grizzly bear killed its, trainer, Stephan Miller, during a routine training exercise for a promotional video. Miller, an American who was also a wrangler and stunt double, had his carotid artery and jugular vein severed when Rocky, a 7-and-a-half-foot tall trained grizzly bear that weighed over 700 pounds, bit him in the neck, killing him within minutes. Petitions to lift the said animal’s work restrictions in California was denied but was allowed in other states.
