51 stores of Brooks Brothers

Retail Gazette

The oldest men’s luxury apparel retailer Brooks Brothers, who made it out alive during the Civil War, the Great Depression, World War II and the Great Recession has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last July due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company will be closing 51 of its 250 North American stores. The company has 424 stores located worldwide and around 4,000 employees, with nearly 75 percent currently furloughed. In 2019, Brooks Brothers were exploring a sale of the brand. Those talks fell apart when the pandemic began.
