125 stores of Macy’s

The company announced in February that over the next three years, Macy’s plans to close 125 stores, several offices and cut thousands of corporate jobs. These store closures make up about one-fifth of the department store chain’s locations. The company is also cutting 9% of its corporate head count which comprises of about 2,000 corporate jobs. These changes are all part of Macy’s three-year plan that would end up saving them gross of $600 million in 2020 and $1.5 billion annually come 2022.
