The multinational retail corporation that runs hypermarkets, grocery stores and department stores, Walmart has permanently closed one branch in Michigan and two in North Carolina earlier this year. These stores include the supercenter in Ypsilanti, Michigan and stores located in Wadesboro and Lumberton, North Carolina. Walmart has three formats being Supercenters, Discount Stores and Neighbourhood Markets. In the United States alone, Walmart has more than 4,700 stores. 90 percent of the country’s population lives within 10 miles of a store. Sam’s Club is one of Walmart’s brands, which if combined with other stores make up 5,353 branches across the country.
