Headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, Lion Air has just recently found itself in serious trouble following the deadly crash of one of its planes en route to Pangkal Pinang. 189 souls on board the ill-fated flight lost their lives in the tragedy, placing the carrier under tight scrutiny.

Investigations following the accident uncovered instances of flight attendants blatantly disregarding safety protocols with some even smuggling illegal substances into the aircraft just before flights. The airline has also been hounded by domestic delays, which isn’t as grave as the serious breaches in safety that Lion Air has been found to take lightly.
