You might be looking at this photograph and wondering why it cost the buyer $4.3 million, but as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? For German photographer and visual artist Andreas Gurskey, his creation Rhein II took precedence when it received the recorder breaking price back in 2011, making it the most expensive photograph ever sold to date. Although some don’t necessarily see the beauty in the photograph, others claim that it’s the fact that his photos stunningly look like paintings is the real reason behind his acclaim.
