This is a picture of a war dog in World War I wearing goggles and holding a pipe between his teeth. Dogs are known to be hard workers, and if trained well, can save your life. They were sent to the trenches in World War I with the men to take care of menial tasks in those small, cramped spaces. Some worked as sentries who watched over the men as they slept, while others worked as casualty dogs that found wounded or dying soldiers on the battlefield. They were also known to have carried medical equipment to wounded soldiers in the field.
