This is a photo of a young Serena and Venus Williams posing with former President Ronald Reagan and his First Lady, Nancy Reagan nat a “Say No to Drugs” celebrity tournament at the Riviera Country Club in LA. Venus, 9, and Serena, 10, gave out autographs, posed for photos, and gave interviews about how they had to practice on courts in Compton and Watts, where gang activity was rampant during the late 80s and early 90s. They went from being shot at on the tennis courts to being protected by the gangs for when the shooting started. Venus and Serena Williams are still major names in tennis today.
