This is a photo of Hannah Stilley, who is believed to be the earliest born woman ever photographed. In 1770, she married Joseph Gorby at the Holy Trinity Church in Wilmington, Delaware, and this photo is said to have been taken in 1840. The photography method used to capture her image is known as the daguerreotype, which was the first commercially successful photographic process in the history of photography.
