Animals Being Put On The Brink Of Extinction

Whether the toll is on the hundreds of millions or billion, the actual extent of the carnage may be quite impossible to say. Millions are dead, and more are likely to follow suit as the fires rage on, destroying the animals’ habitat. According to experts from Australian universities, as much as 100 endangered species are pushed closer to extinction, including the brush-tailed rock wallaby, whose population was placed at just around 15,000 before the fire season began. The regent honeyeater, which calls the Blue Mountains home, as well as the nationally-endangered eastern bristlebird are some of the bird species being threatened. More of these animals are expected to die due to starvation.
