Lives Have Been Lost And A State Of Emergency Declared

New South Wales has been reeling from the onslaught of the bushfires, with high heat and gusty winds further exacerbating the fires, of which over 60 are reported to have been burning as of early November. Three people have been confirmed dead, with several missing and many more being trapped in their homes, unable to get help due to the fires, even by helicopter. With the fire danger being raised to a “catastrophic” rating – the highest level of bushfire danger, a state of emergency has been declared, including a statewide fire ban, as more than 100 homes are now feared to have been lost.
