With the attention the bushfires has gotten worldwide, it was only a matter of time before financial assistance rain down to those who have been affected. Australian comedian Celeste Barber, who was able to raise over $51 million for bushfire charities, called out the world’s richest, with three French billionaires responding with a pledge of $565 million, Australian gambling tycoon James Packer donating $3.45 million, and celebrities like actor Chris Hemsworth, singer Elton John, and Kylie Jenner each donating a million. Some of those who also donated were Leonardo DiCaprio ($3 million through Earth Alliance), Pink ($500,000), Russell Crowe ($500,000), Kylie Minogue ($500,000) and rock band Metallica ($750,000).
