Wikipedia

John Calvin Coolidge Jr. was the 30th President of the US. A lawyer from Vermont, he worked his way to the governorship of Massachusetts. As Governor, he earned a reputation for being a man of decisive action by how he handled the Boston Police Strike of 1919. As a President, Coolidge was famous for several quotes he made. Examples are “Don’t expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong,” and “You can’t know too much, but you can say too much.” He restored confidence in the White House after the scandals of his predecessor tarnished the presidency. He left office with considerable popularity.
