The actor-President was the 40th US President. He was Governor of California, and a Hollywood actor from 1937 to 1964. He was born and raised in small towns in Illinois and moved to Hollywood in 1937. At 69 years of age at the time of his first inauguration, he was the oldest person to have been elected to the highest office, until Donald Trump won in 2017 at the age of 70. Known for “Reaganomics” policies to spur economic growth and reduction in government spending. Also famous for his “War on Drugs”, and surviving an assassination attempt.
