Abraham Lincoln (140)

Wikipedia

Lincoln was the 16th President of the US from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. His legacy is not only did he abolish slavery, but he pushed the 13th Amendment to Congress which outlawed slavery all over the country. He strengthened the Federal Government and modernized the US economy. He is hailed by US scholars and historians often as the best US President. He is memorialized in monuments, postage stamps, as the name of the capital of Nebraska, and US currency (penny and $5 bill). Not bad for a self-educated man from a poor family in Kentucky.
