Harding was the 29th President of the country from 1921 until his death in 1923. Historians rate him as one of the most popular Presidents to that point. However, after his death, a number of scandals arose such as the Teapot Dome, a bribery scandal, and the extramarital affair with Nan Britton, an American secretary who was his mistress. He is often rated as one of the worst Presidents in historical rankings.
