Britannica

John Adams Jr., was a Founding Father who served as the 2nd US President, after serving two terms as Vice-President under President George Washington. He is the father of John Quincy Adams who was the 6th US President, and the only one with an IQ over 170. John Adams is the first President to reside in the White House. He lost his bid for reelection to his former friend, Thomas Jefferson. Surprisingly John Adams died on July 4th, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. And more surprising, it was just a few hours after Jefferson’s own death.
