Served as the 37th President and the only one to resign from office, due to the Watergate Scandal. He ran for President in 1960 but lost to the popular Kennedy. He ran again in 1968 and won, and in 1973, ended American involvement in the Vietnam War, as well as the military draft. He presided over the Apollo 11 moon landing which ended the moon race with Russia. He was reelected in one of the largest electoral landslides in American history in 1972. His popularity was fast rising, until the unfortunate Watergate Scandal. On August 9, 1974, Nixon resigned in the face of almost certain impeachment.
