Be Totally Unreachable

Kids these days will never know the freedom we did, where we could literally go anywhere within our neighborhood and hang out at whosoever’s house we wanted, until dark. Or dinner, whichever came first. Our parents wouldn’t know exactly where we were, but they did have a general inkling that we’d be out with our friends, in particular favorite places, doing normal routine things. They didn’t have the means to contact us and ask for our whereabouts, and therefore felt no need to do so. While being totally unreachable also pissed off our parents a whole lot, especially when we started going out at night as teenagers, we were the last generation whose parents could not reach them while we were out of the house, even if they wanted to.
