Towards the end of the great war, Hitler knew that he was fighting a losing battle. In his attempt to keep the lines before the fall of Berlin, Hitler called on women and children to be armed in order to continue fighting for him. Regardless of how awful this was for them, they had no choice in the matter. When Berlin finally fell and the Allies retook the city, those that fought with the Nazis were also captured. This young German boy was photographed crying, probably more for his lost youth and being wrongly used in a war he wanted nothing to do with in the first place.
