Openly kissing men was totally taboo during the early 1940s and 1950s, but that didn’t stop these two sailors from doing it. Life on a ship wasn’t easy, while sailing in open water for days on end left many navy personal searching for ways to keep busy. And while turning working relationships into physical relationships might not have been the accepted choice, legend has it that it happened often while at sea.
