Hitler’s Infamous Bunker, Eagle’s Nes

While Hitler was causing millions of people to be tortured, to starve to death, to be murdered in gas chambers and the like, he was living in the lap of luxury in a number of bunkers he had built all over Europe. One of the most famous ones was called ‘The Eagle’s Nest,’ which was one of his favorite hideaways. He would invite high ranking Nazi officials, while keeping his mistress also tucked away with him in this location. So when the American soldiers managed to take it from him, it was a proud day. This photo shows them enjoying this particular spoil of war.
