This picture shows the perfect example of just how heinous war can be. The children in this photo can’t be more than six or seven years old, some much younger, being forced to wear gas masks in case they were subject to deadly air raids, an event that unfortunately happened often during the war. These children were living in England, and got bombarded by German air strikes more often than we’d like to think about. This image isn’t only heartbreaking, but it also proves just how terrible war really is, and the fact that it doesn’t spare anyone, even the littlest ones.
