A Celebratory Drink

Towards the end of the war, more of the allies had time to sit down, relax and enjoy a drink or two. This particular photo shows Canadian soldiers after they had taken back Belgium on February 4th, 1945. After the allies freed the nation, they had a chance to enjoy some of the things that Belgium was best known for, one of which was beer. Until today, people still love to visit Bruges and sit back and enjoy a cold one, thankfully without a German oppressor to worry about either.
