A brilliant and eclectic character actor praised for his versatility, Christopher Walken is known for a wide range of screen roles, appearing in over a hundred films and television shows, including Annie Hall, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, and Hairspray. Before he captivated audiences with his distinct voice that made all his characters unique if not a bit peculiar, at 16, Walken worked in a circus as a lion tamer. His act was with a lioness named Sheba—whom he called very sweet like a dog—and the giant feline would do tricks like rolling over and sitting up.

Before hosting Saturday Night Live seven times and showing off his dance moves in music videos, notably Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon of Choice,” Walken studied tap dance and toured in musicals as a child.
