Known as the badass with a particular set of skills in the action film series Taken, Liam Neeson once demonstrated these skills when he was training to be a teacher in Newcastle. He had reason to punch the high school student though—it was an act in self-defense when the 15-year-old threatened him with a knife. Though his actions were justifiable, Neeson was still relieved of his duties.
After working various jobs, from forklift operator to truck driver, Neeson got his film debut portraying Jesus Christ in the religious film Pilgrim’s Progress. After being featured with megastars Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins in The Bounty and Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons in The Mission, Neeson rose to fame when he landed the role of Oskar Schindler in the historical period drama Schindler’s List.
Neeson gained even more prominence and commercial success, as well as a massive following, as the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I and II and as former CIA operative Bryan Mills in Taken 1 to 3.
