The Canadian-born comedian and actor, Jim Carrey, is known for his highly entertaining and energetic slapstick performances in a memorable string of hilarious movies, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, and Liar Liar. However, before he first gained recognition in the US with his recurring role in the sketch comedy television series In Living Color, he worked as a janitor in a factory to help support his family.

Carrey gained critical acclaim with more serious roles in the satirical comedy-drama movie The Truman Show and the biographical film Man on the Moon. He continued to achieve more box office success with Me, Myself & Irene, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Bruce Almighty, followed by overwhelming acclaim with his mature and sharply focused portrayal of Joel Barish in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
