Hugh Jackman Was A Gym Teacher

The Australian actor, singer, and stage performer, Hugh Jackman, is well-known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, along with his performances in musical films such as Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman. He’s also a success on Broadway, performing in The Boy From Oz, A Steady Rain, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, and next year’s revival production of The Music Man.

Before gaining worldwide fame as a cell-regenerating, self-healing, claw-wielding mutant, Jackman worked as a PE teacher at a co-ed school in England. He returned to studying and graduated with a degree in Communications, and only took up drama classes in his final year at the university, mainly to make up additional credits. He then decided he could make a living out of his hobby and studied acting full-time.

Jackman continues to achieve even more success with major grossing films and Broadway shows. He remains a longtime and vocal advocate of microcredit which is designed to support entrepreneurship in impoverished countries. He is also an advisor of the Global Poverty Project.
