Bruce Willis Drove A Truck In A Chemical Plant

The American actor, singer, and producer born in Germany became a Hollywood sensation with his portrayal of John McClane in the successful blockbuster action film Die Hard. But before he yippee-ki-yayed his way into the big screens, Walter Bruce Willis, who was plagued with a stutter when he was a child, first worked in a chemical factory, driving a truck to shuttle workers from one side of the plant to the other. Willis immediately quit the tedious and hazardous job when he witnessed a fellow driver explode while transporting a big drum of mixed chemicals. Willis then worked a similarly dreary and dangerous job as a security guard at a construction site of a nuclear plant.

Willis left the “action” in blue-collar jobs for action on film and became a big-screen star in massive hits like Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, Armageddon, The Sixth Sense, and the Unbreakable film series. Since gaining recognition as Detective David Addison in the 1980s hit series Moonlighting, Willis has received multiple awards as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
