The Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper, singer, and songwriter, Nicki Minaj, known for her colorful wigs and costumes, gained recognition with her mixtapes and debut album, Pink Friday. Regarded as one of the most influential female rap artists, the Queen of Rap once struggled to make ends meet and worked at Red Lobster, a seafood restaurant in New York. She was fired from her job for being rude to customers, flipping them the bird for taking her pen. Minaj also tried her hand at customer service because she liked dealing with people but soon realized it wasn’t the best job for her.

Switching to a career where she got to stand up for herself and speak her own mind, Minaj dominated the rap industry as the sole female rap force for over a decade.
