Prior to becoming an actual Disney princess in the 2007 musical fantasy and romantic comedy Enchanted, American actress Amy Adams worked as a cheerful greeter at a Gap store. Adams was only 18 and just out of high school when she waited tables at Hooters until she could afford to buy a used car. She trained to be a ballerina, but realizing she wasn’t gifted enough to pursue classical ballet, she switched to musical theater.
Though she struggled to break into dancing and TV shows, only getting bit roles if not getting fired, she finally found her break in acting with the comedy-drama film Junebug and Enchanted. Then she found bigger and stronger parts in the biographical sports drama The Fighter and the psychological drama The Master. She also landed the coveted role of Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe films.
Despite a rough start, Adams went on to win many awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for American Hustle, and is now recognized as one of the most influential people in the world.
