The American radio and television personality is well-known for hosting the long-running singing competition and TV series American Idol, as well as the countdown radio program American Top 40. Long before he became one of the richest TV show hosts in the world, Ryan Seacrest handled morning announcements in the high school where he studied, and then he interned at a local radio station in Atlanta while going to the University of Georgia.
Seacrest’s internship led to his first gig on-air, and from there, he launched a popular afternoon radio program and rose to fame in local radio. Seacrest gained visibility on television when he began hosting Fox’s hit reality television show American Idol until its brief hiatus in 2016, and he returned as host when the show was revived two years later. When American Top 40’s Casey Kasem retired in 2004, Seacrest took on the role, and he hosts the radio countdown program to this day.
