Aside from America’s Sweetheart, the 44th president of the United States also scooped ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Before his prestigious role leading the country, Barack Obama spent his days scooping rows and rows of rock-hard ice cream at a Baskin Robbins shop near his grandparents’ home in Honolulu. It wasn’t the most glamorous profession, but his first job taught him about hard work, responsibility, balancing work with friends, family, and school, as well as finding the opportunity to contribute to the community.
Barack Hussein Obama II was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review and, more notably, the first African American President of the United States. Viewed as a centrist New Democrat, he signed many landmark bills into law during his first term, was reelected, and sworn in for a second term during which he promoted inclusiveness for LGBT Americans, advocated for gun control, and issued executive actions in relation to global warming and immigration.
