The legendary Queen of Pop is well-known not just for pushing the boundaries of popular music but also for the visual images she uses onstage and in her music videos. But long before she gained insurmountable fame with her big hits, including “Like A Virgin” which spent six weeks at the top of the charts, “Vogue,” “Crazy for You,” “Take a Bow,” and “Papa Don’t Preach,” Madonna Louise Ciccone worked at Dunkin’ Donuts in Times Square where she got fired on her first day for squirting jelly filling at a customer.
Madonna rose to pop stardom with her debut single “Everybody.” Her first album was quickly followed by a succession of successful, Grammy Award-winning albums, and her popularity grew even more with her roles in critically acclaimed films such as Dick Tracy and Evita. The Material Girl has sold over 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the highest-selling female recording artist of all time.
