Pierce Brosnan Busked As A Fire Eater Before He Joined The Circus

The smooth and sophisticated actor, film producer, and environmentalist, who effectively portrayed the suave secret agent James Bond was once hired as a fire eater. Irish American actor Pierce Brosnan learned the trade from a fire-eating instructor, and while he was performing in public, a circus agent saw him and contracted him to work at the Zen Sushi Circus for three years.

After making his acting debut, Brosnan demonstrated his fire-eating skills in an episode of the crime drama tv program Remington Steele. He also showed off his skills in the comedy series The Muppets, but the prop man used white gas instead of kerosene, and Brosnan suffered burn blisters.

Past his fire-eating days, Brosnan rose to fame in Remington Steele, achieved even more success in four Eon Productions films, namely GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day, and starred in other blockbusters, including the epic disaster movie Dante’s Peak and the musical romantic comedy Mamma Mia! and its sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
