Rowan Sebastian Atkinson is a hilarious English comedian, actor, and writer, well-known for his role as “a child trapped in a grown man’s body” Mr. Bean in the sitcom and film of the same name. Atkinson developed the disruptive character while he was studying for his master’s degree at The Queen’s College, Oxford. He also briefly embarked in doctorate work, with a thesis on the application of self-tuning control, before he decided to focus on writing sketches and acting.
Listed as one of the funniest actors in British comedy, Atkinson has viewers laughing to tears throughout his career, not just as Mr. Bean, but also as an old-fashioned host in Not The Nine O’clock News, the antihero in Blackadder, a bumbling vicar in Four Weddings and a Funeral, an annoying jewelry salesman in Love Actually, and a parody of James Bond in Johnny English.
