Keanu Reeves Considered Playing For Canada’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team

Prophesized to be The One in the science fiction media franchise, The Matrix, the Canadian actor Keanu Reeves has become one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He has shown his versatility in acting in a range of films, from a metalhead slacker traveling through time in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure to a retired hitman seeking vengeance in the action thriller film series, John Wick. Immensely talented, Reeves has also pursued other forms of artistry, including stage acting, music performing, writing, and directing.

Before Reeves reached celebrity status when he landed the lead role in the action film Speed, he lived in Toronto and seriously considered playing ice hockey for the Canadian Olympic team. He decided to pursue acting instead after he played Mercutio when he was 15 in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet.

Reeves remains humble despite his massive success, supporting many charitable organizations, including PETA and Stand Up to Cancer.
